This body of work explores the raw terrain of human emotion through the universal language of the face. Using copper and some enamel, I emboss expressions that capture confrontation, confusion, vulnerability, and the noise of unsaid things.
Each piece is a portrait of emotional tension. In one, two faces yell past each other, caught in an endless loop of talking without listening.
In another, three loud expressions converge on a single silent one, embodying the overwhelm of being on the receiving end of collective force, criticism, or expectation.
These interactions reflect not just external conflicts, but the interior battles we all carry.
Copper, with its conductivity and malleability, becomes the perfect medium for these dialogues—both spoken and suppressed. Enamel adds color and heat-born permanence, anchoring fleeting feelings into something solid and lasting.
This collection asks: What do our faces hold that our words can’t?
And what happens when our expressions speak louder than our voices?
